How to log in or sign up with Siemens ID

Guide for authentication process with Siemens ID

We've moved to a single sign-in method, Siemens ID, to simplify access and strengthen data security across our products. If you currently sign in with a social account, an emailed link, or an email/password combination, this guide walks you through what's changing and what to do. You'll only need to set up your Siemens ID once, your existing teams and drawings won't be affected, and after that you'll log in with Siemens ID as usual. If you run into any questions along the way, visit our community page for help.

The old login and sign-up pages are no longer available

The previous login and sign-up pages are no longer in use. We recommend removing any bookmarks for those pages. Everyone must sign in using Siemens ID moving forward.

Getting to the login screen

Wherever you're headed in this guide, you'll start from one of these two places:

• The Capital X Panel Designer home page. To sign up, click Sign Up in the top right. To log in, click Launch App on the top right.

  

• The Capital X Panel Designer application landing page, then click Log in.

  

Logging in for the first time (existing Siemens ID users)

1. Enter the email address you currently use to log in, then click Log in. This keeps your existing teams and drawings connected to your account.

   

2. You'll be redirected to the Siemens ID login page.

   

3. Enter the same email address again, then your password, and click Log in.
4. You'll be redirected to your dashboard as usual.

Setting up your Siemens ID for the first time

If you're switching over from a social login, emailed link, or password: enter the email address you previously logged in with. If you used a social login, enter the email address tied to that social account. This keeps your existing teams and drawings connected to your account.

If you're brand new to Capital X Panel Designer with no existing account: you can enter any email address you'd like.

1. Enter your email address as described above, then click Log in.

   

2. You'll be redirected to the Siemens ID login page.

   

3. Click Create one next to "Don't have an account?". You'll be redirected to the Siemens ID sign-up page.
4. Choose how you'd like to create your account:
   • Option 1: Email and password (with the option to add a passkey)
   • Option 2: LinkedIn
   • Option 3: Google
5. Once finished, you'll be redirected to your dashboard as usual.

Option 1: Create a Siemens ID account with email, password, or passkey

1. On the Siemens ID sign-up page, enter the required information, accept the terms and conditions, and click Continue.

   

2. You'll be asked whether you want to set up a passkey. A passkey lets you log in securely without typing a password each time.
   • To skip this and use a password instead: click Continue without passkeys, then enter your password on the next screen and click Create account.

     

   • To set up a passkey: follow the steps for your device below.
     • On Windows:
       1. Click OK on the Windows Security prompt to continue on this device.

          

       2. Choose where to save the passkey: select iPhone, iPad or Android device to save it to your mobile device, or Security key to use a security key. Click Next.

          

       3. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish creating the passkey.
     • On Mac:
       1. A prompt will appear to create a passkey.
       2. Click Continue to create the passkey.

          

   • o Changed your mind about the information you entered? Click Go back at the bottom of the page.
3. Next, you'll verify your identity. Check your inbox (and spam folder, if needed) for a 6-digit code, enter it in the Verification code field, and click Continue. Didn't get a code? Click Resend. Need to switch accounts? Click Login as another user.

   

Option 2: Create a Siemens ID account with LinkedIn

1. On the Siemens ID sign-up page, scroll down and click Sign in with LinkedIn. You'll be redirected to the LinkedIn login page.

   

2. Sign in with your LinkedIn credentials if prompted. If you already have a Capital X Panel Designer account, use the LinkedIn account tied to the same email address.

   

3. Click Allow to let Siemens ID access your LinkedIn account information.

   

4. You'll be redirected back to Siemens ID. Fill in any remaining required fields.

   

5. Accept the terms and conditions and click Confirm.

   

Option 3: Create a Siemens ID account with Google

1. On the Siemens ID sign-up page, scroll down and click Sign in with Google. You'll be redirected to the Google login page.

   

2. Select one of your signed-in Google accounts or enter your Google email address. If you already have a Capital X Panel Designer account, use the same email address it's tied to.

   

3. Enter your Google account password if prompted.
4. Click Continue to let Siemens ID access your Google account information.

   

5. You'll be redirected back to Siemens ID. Fill in any remaining required fields.

   

6. Accept the terms and conditions and click Confirm.

   

Logging in going forward

Once you've set up your Siemens ID, here's how to log in each time after that. Start from the login screen, then choose the method that matches how you set up your account.

• Email and password
  1. Enter your email address.

     

  2. Enter your password and click Log in.

     

  3. If you haven't set up a passkey yet, you'll see a prompt asking if you'd like to create one.
     • To set one up now, click Service Portal. This opens in a new tab where you can create your passkey.
     • To decide later, choose how long you'd like to be reminded: Remind me at next login, Remind me in 30 days, or Don't ask me again.
     • Click FAQ for more information about passkeys.

       

  4. You'll be redirected to your dashboard.
• LinkedIn or Google
  1. On the Log in page, enter your email address.
  2. Click Sign in with LinkedIn or Sign in with Google.

     

  3. Sign in to your social account if prompted.
  4. You'll be redirected to your dashboard.
• Passkey
  1. On the Log in page, enter your email address.
  2. Click Edit next to your email address.

     

  3. Click Continue with a passkey.

     

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to log in.
  5. You'll be redirected to your dashboard.
